Ascend: Life Tracker ("Ascend", "we", "our", or "us") is operated by Matthew Larkin. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our app and website at myascendd.com.

  • Account information: Email address and name when you sign up via Clerk authentication.
  • Health & fitness data: Workout logs, step counts, and fitness goals you manually enter.
  • Financial data: Budget categories, income, and expense amounts you manually enter. We do not connect to bank accounts.
  • Habit & goal data: Daily goals, habit completions, and streak information you track.
  • Usage data: How you interact with the app, collected via PostHog analytics to help us improve the product.

How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and improve the Ascend app and its features.
  • To calculate your daily score, XP, and tier progression.
  • To display leaderboard rankings (username or display name only — no personal contact info is shared).
  • To send product updates or important account notifications.
  • To process subscription payments via Stripe (we do not store your full card details).

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following trusted service providers:

  • Clerk — authentication and user account management.
  • Neon / PostgreSQL — secure database storage.
  • Stripe — payment processing for Pro subscriptions.
  • PostHog — product analytics (anonymized usage data).
  • Vercel — web hosting and infrastructure.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure authentication via Clerk, and access controls on our database. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
